Efficient model library access by projectively invariant indexing functions

چکیده
Projectively invariant shape descriptors allow fast indexing into model libraries without the need for pose computation or camera calibration. This paper describes progress in building a model based vision system for plane objects that uses algebraic projective invari-ants. We give a brief account of these descriptors and then describe the recognition system, giving examples of the invariant techniques working on real images.

Using Projective Invariants for Constant Time Library Indexing in Model Based Vision
Protectively invariant shape descriptors allow fast indexing into model libraries, because recognition proceeds without reference to object pose. This paper describes progress in building a large model based vision system which uses many projectively invariant descriptors. We give a brief account of these descriptors and then describe the recognition system, giving examples of the invariant tec...
متن کاملO ct 2 00 5 PROJECTIVELY INVARIANT STAR PRODUCTS
It is shown that a (curved) projective structure on a smooth manifold determines on the Poisson algebra of smooth functions on the cotangent bundle, fiberwise-polynomial of bounded degree, a one-parameter family of graded star products. For a particular value of the parameter (corresponding to half-densities) the star product is symmetric, and specializes in the projectively flat case to the on...

متن کاملSubject access in online catalogs: A design model
A model based on strikingly different philosophical as. sumptions from those currently popular is proposed for the design of online subject catalog access. Three design principles are presented and discussed: uncertainty (subject indexing is indeterminate and probabilis-tic beyond a certain point), variety (by Ashby's law of requisite variety, variety of searcher query must equal variety of doc...
متن کاملIndexing Textual Information
Information retrieval is the computational discipline that deals with the efficient representation, organization, and access to information objects that represent natural language texts (Baeza-Yates, & Ribeiro-Neto, 1999; Salton & McGill, 1983; Witten, Moûat, & Bell, 1999). A crucial subproblem in the information retrieval area is the design and implementation of efficient data structures and a...
